In Schaerbeek, they make dog food from insects
A Schaerbeek-based company offers dog food made from insects. The aim is to reduce the carbon footprint of the owners.
25% of the kibble is made of mealworms. The rest is made with cereals and different sources of fiber. The insects need 15 times less water than meat. This reduces the carbon footprint of the owners.
In one year, Bazoef has quintupled its sales volume. It delivers by bike and the bags are reusable.
These kibbles are recommended for adult dogs. The company is already working on a kibble for cats.
